Topless

The police came along and ‘asked’ the women to cover up, which they did. But you have to ask some questions.

Why did the family complain? Well, there were children present. But children have been going onto beaches and being topless, or nude and seeing topless people for decades, with no ill effect I am aware of.

Why did the three women agree to cover up? After all, they were doing nothing illegal or obscene nor were they interfering with the family. Well, having two police officers bearing down on you, in uniform and carrying guns (presumably) in public must have been pretty intimidating. Had they said ‘no’, who knows what would have happened next? Dragged off the beach under arrest, for all they know.

Why didn’t the family just move? Perhaps because they were trouble makers?

Do the police have nothing better to do? Apparently not.

Did the police act appropriately? No, as they admit themselves. But all you have to do is say ‘sorry’ and you are instantly forgiven and all is well. It’s a thing now, especially on social media. Make a racist or sexit post, falsely accuse someone of some dastardly deed and if it gets exposed, just apologise and all is fine.
